Making the Belt and Road Initiative successful is a historical imperative, according to Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Francis Yeoh Sok Ping. The Managing Director of YTL Group, one of Malaysia’s largest conglomerates, said the huge Belt and Road opportunities offered the prospect of “globalising prosperity”, as China’s and ASEAN’s economies grow larger. Hong Kong’s role as the world’s largest offshore Rmb centre should also increase.
